Carole Brown’s Scavenger Hunt

Have you ever gone to a cemetery to explore or research?  My mother loved to wander in cemeteries and read the head stones. I have picked up this wonderful trait from her. A lot can be gleaned from an old cemetery, like the one where my parents are buried. It is near the border of Nebraska and Iowa, off the road, surrounded by corn fields. Civil War vets are buried there. The headstones that touch my heart are those of infants with the motto, “Safe in the arms of Jesus.” A walk in a cemetery can put life into perspective. Not like a quilt, or a hand woven basket or a collie dog. But a cemetery.
